It was in the morning of Friday 14th September, when we all met, A rendezvous at Gatwick Airport - on our holidays we were all set.
The plane was delayed by a couple of hours, or was it four? But no worries, we all had a drink and then we had a few more!
We arrived in Hurghada, keen to inspect our new abode, On board the "Pegasus", where our luggage we did unload.
Saturday morning after breakfast, we got ready to set sail, An hour or two into the journey, Annette began to look pale.
She went down to the bottom deck and vomited into the sea, Pete went to check on her, but came out in sympathy!
"It must be love" Lisa said, while peering over at the mess, Not only in the sea did the vomit go, Pete and Annette wish to confess!!
The wetsuits hanging on the starboard side were in the line of fire, Perhaps it was only the fish that noticed that they were smelling rather dire!
We arrived at the first dive site, it was a reef called "Umm Gamar", Pete Simblet wanted a drift dive because he doesn't like to fin very far!
The second dive was at "Gotta Shabb El Erg", where the dolphins we did meet, Eighteen or so bottelenosed ones - Wow! this indeed was a treat.
Malin was there with his video, he captured it all on frame, But Fletch couldn't join him with his camera, as it had flooded earlier - what a shame!
There were also plenty of turtles, which Warren was desperate to see, But he was never around when they appeared, we saw a couple or was it three?
Sarah saw some fighting, but Lisa thought that this was doubt-ful, She thought they were getting rather randy, and were more likely on the pull!
On Tuesday it was Bob's birthday, a dive on the Thistlegorm was the aim, This was a British cargo vessel, which was bombed by a German war plane.
The peal of the ships bell was heard, and summoned us all to the deck, We were not sure whether it was for breakfast, or a dive brief on the wreck!
Paul told us about the Thistlegorm, and warned us about the flow, He described it as a "howling current", and Annette wasn't sure whether to go.
Everybody was gripping the shot tightly, hanging horizontally, like washing on a line, Annette found this a bit unnerving, so decided to give the thumbs-up sign!
In the evening there were celebrations in the form of a birthday cake, The crew had made it especially, Paul and Lisa had asked them to bake.
Unfortunately, for Bob the arabic alphabet can't cope with the letter "B", So Bob became "Mop" and then became "Pop", and then he got thrown in the sea!
Fletch and Matt were the culprits, they picked on Pete Hubbard as well, One hundred dives he had logged that day, so in the water he fell.
Dilys was going to join them, but she is stronger than you would think, She threw Fletch off, he cut his leg and on the deck he did sink!
One night when it was dark, Annette had to get up, for a pee, Fumbling her way back to her cabin, with difficulty because she couldn't see.
She was just about to get into bed, when she realised something was not right, She had gone to the wrong cabin and had given Bob such a fright!
On Thursday night, we drove to the desert to look at the stars and the milky way, Dilys thinks we would have done better, if on the top deck of the boat we did stay.
With the help of Fletch's kawalski, and Pete and Warren pointing to the stars so far, Add a bottle or two of whisky, and we would spot anything no matter how bizzare!
On the last days diving, the Rugby six, dived to 40 metres plus - rules they did defy, They were told that they couldn't dive again that day or they wouldn't be able to fly!
That is the story of the Red Sea Liveaboard, all our expectations were met, Thanks to all who participated and a special thanks to Pete Simblet!
