CONGRATULATIONS
The sound of wedding bells was heard once more in the Club when Andy Bullard and Rosemary got married recently. Congratulations from everyone.
Congratulations also to Matt and Victoria on their recent engagement. For those of you who have hibernated for a few months, Matt proposed to Victoria on Ayers Rock in Australia and of course she accepted. It's good to see you both back in the UK!
DJ
It was good to see DJ back at the Club, albeit hobbling around on crutches, after having his hip op. He's starting to get used to having both legs the same length but is getting bored hanging around at home and is looking forward to getting some real physio.
EXPERINECE SCUBA
The recent Experience Scuba course saw four new members join the Club and begin training, with a further two possibles. The next Experience Scuba course is scheduled for 8th and 15th September. If you know anyone who may be interested, can help with publicity or help on the course itself, contact Pete Robinson.
RIB NEWS
from Mark Howden
It may only seem like yesterday that the Club acquired the RIB, but 2003 does in fact see its tenth birthday. Maybe Annette should arrange a party!
The winter has been spent updating the RIB equipment and, in particular, making sure the safety side is all OK. The boat has recently passed the RNLI's Sea Safety and Equipment Check, achieving 'silver standard'. This is a free service offered by the RNLI for boats under 13.7m.
It also now has a new stainless steel bottle rack, new flares and a new built-in radio. No more juggling with hand helds trying not to drop them in the briny.
