Well the AGM is over and we have a new committee beavering away. The big issue at the moment is getting ourselves geared up for the new training scheme, which Claire seems to have mastered. There will obviously be a number of you who find yourselves "between the schemes", but don't worry, it's not that bad. If your are part way to the next qualification, i.e. done some of the lectures and/or dives do the rest on the old scheme. Otherwise as new courses start we will switch over to the new schemes.

Our first Ocean Diver and Dive Leader courses using the new syllabus are about start.

The headache at the moment on the training front is the lack of active instructors. If you are an instructor or assistant instructor and can help, please talk to Claire. If you want to try you hand at instruction, again talk to Claire and she can point you in the right direction.

It's winter time (well last week anyway!) and diving is a bit lean at the moment, but, it's not that long to the new diving season now. Lot's of dives in their early stages of planning but I'm sure Pete would welcome a few more. Diving and Training calendars can be found in this issue.

The social scene has been buoyant with over 40 at the pre-Christmas Chinese meal. Plans in the pipeline for an Indian meal and Ten-Pin Bowling.

The changing room refurbishment at the Ken Marriott should be finished in the next few days so hopefully we can get back to some semblance of normality!

Don't forget, Stoney is just down the road if you want to blow away the cobwebs.
