Subscription Fees

For the first time in many years, 2001 will see an increase in the Club element of the membership fee. The Committee has agreed to increase this by £5 per year, to £60. This year also sees another increase in the BS-AC element, which rises from £35 to £37.

Thus, this year's subscription for renewing members will be £97. The first year subscription for a new member with full training rises to £177.

The Junior Member subscription remains unchanged at £127.

The Club's costs have continued to rise over the past five or six years, while the fees have remained at the same level. As you are probably aware, the Club has a long term budget, which plans for the replacement of various equipment as far as 10 years ahead. It is only through this careful budgeting that we have been able to afford the new RIB engine now, and will be able to afford other items in the future. The rise is necessary to keep these plans 'on track'.

RIB and Equipment Hire Fees

The RIB hire fee will rise by £1 per person per day, to £7. The first RIB trip for new Club Divers remains free.

It is however worth noting that RIB costs should fall this year thanks to the much improved fuel economy given by the new engine.

Equipment hire fees remain unchanged.

All the above take effect from the Common Renewal on 1st April 2001.
